Adrenaline Junkie Cocktails

It’s been three months since I’ve travelled, and another three months until I jet off again, so the wanderlust has reached no bounds as I’ve started to visit every hipster coffee shop and coffee bar in the local vicinity just looking for that little bit of excitement.

Aluna UK, one of Bristol’s newest bars, definitely garnered my attention with its tantalising decor and creative cocktail menu. Although, I admit I did that thing again where I just happen to walk past a bar I didn’t know existed until that moment and it turned out to be a winner.

The decor alone will whisper to your inner millennial, with mirror quotes and copper cocktail equipment – it’s very pleasing to the eye. Not to mention the wall painted wings just crying out for a selfie!

As for the cocktails, they have the usual culprits on display – Espresso Martinis and Long Island Iced Teas, but it’s the midnight madness range that will set every Millennial’s heart racing – think bubblegumtini’s and pomegranate cosmos.

I listened to my inner child and opted for the Marshmallow Daiquiri, and given that it was 2-4-1 at the time, this was quite the commitment to order two of a cocktail I wasn’t even sure I was going to like but.. YOLO!

Whether it was the fact that I dropped my phone down the loo (after paying £80 to replace the battery just hours before), or a sugar crash from the Marshmallow Man sitting atop my glass, I lost my MoJo.

The cocktail was tasty but it was a little difficult to drink as you ended up with a mouthful of melted Stay Puft than the drink itself, and I found myself staring wistfully at the bubbling pomegranate cosmos on the bar.

That said, I’d definitely return again when I’m not sulking about my phone and I’d definitely urge you to find your inner adventuress and try something new.
