Grab your woolly hat and scarf, ’cause we’re going Christmas shopping! From November to December, Bristol has a colourful array of Christmas markets promising merry vibes aplenty.

As a market lover, and someone who has marked *interested* on pretty much every event on Facebook containing the words ‘Christmas’ and ‘Market’, I felt it was my duty to present you with a comprehensive guide to Christmas Markets in Bristol.

Bristol Flea Market

While not specifically a Christmas market, this year round market is the perfect place for one-of-a-kind gifts with everything from antiques, vintage, retro, furnishings, furniture or pretty much anything second hand and unique.

Bristol’s Craft & Flea

Craft & Flea are a brand new pop-up market showcasing local producers and makers. Expect the best of the city’s local produce & makers served up with street food and flea market stalls offering vintage and collectables.

Bristol’s Christmas Market

Perhaps the most well known within Bristol, and completely unavoidable if you’re heading into the centre for your Christmas shopping. The German Markets at Broadmead will include a Santa Grotto, Winter ice rink with ice stock curling and a Lapland post box and over 50 unique stalls of food, gifts, crafts, jewellery, clothes and toys.

Pennywell Market

There’s a new kid on the market block – an indoor Christmas food and craft market. An 18,000 square-foot warehouse in Bristol will be transformed into a pop-up, festive street-food and craft market featuring a weekly changing line-up of local street food traders, along with a pop-up cocktail and craft beer bar, and a variety of local craft-makers and artists who will be selling their wares.

When: 16th November – 22nd December (Every Friday and Saturday)

Meet Your Maker Fair

Meet Your Maker offers an opportunity to meet the designer or maker, learn more about where the products are from and maybe even commission something bespoke.  There will be jewellery, prints, clothes and even pet accessories making it the perfect place to find innovative locally-made products that bring the personal touch to Christmas gift giving.

Bristol Animal Rescue Centre Christmas Fair

There’s something for everyone from games, face painting, badge making and teddy tombola to treat the kids, a huge selection of stalls to kick off your Christmas shopping – or to finish it if you’re really organised – from gorgeous gifts for humans and pets alike, to stunning Christmas cards. There will also be tasty refreshments aplenty with mince pies, mulled wine and a whole lot more. Even Santa will be relaxing in his Grotto; you’d have to be a Grinch to miss it!

All the proceeds raised from this event will be put to excellent use at Bristol A.R.C. caring for thousands of stray, neglected, mistreated, unwell and injured animals every year.

Bristol ETSY Team x Bristol GIRL Bosses: Winter POP UP SHOP

The Bristol Etsy Team and Bristol Girl Bosses are delighted to announce that they have teamed up this festive season to bring you a super exciting pop up shop located in The Galleries Shopping Centre. More details are due to be announced.

The Harbourside Christmas Market (Weekends Only)

Bristol’s biggest independent Christmas Market promises four festive-fuelled weekends filled with live music and mulled drinks! The Makers’ Market aims to create an ethical, independent alternative to the high street by showcasing up to 40 of the city’s creators, small businesses and makers, specialising in unique, Bristol-made gifts and artisan design.

M32 Flea Market

Not specifically for Christmas, this is the second of only two dates announced to date. Expect lots of crafts and arts – potters, jewellers, illustrators, card makers- as well as books and vintage furniture! Refreshments including tea, coffee, cakes, samosas, chick pea curry, rice and lentils and soup! Together with the craze mix of festival type clothing, upcycled goodies, bric n brac, tshirts, vinyls, plants and kids toys.

Festive Flea Market

Featuring a host of independent traders selling vintage clothing, bric-a-brac, handmade crafts, ceramics, books, records, gifts, toys and more. A great place to spend an afternoon, meet friends, have a browse at the stalls and pick up that unique item or special gift.

St Peter’s Hospice Christmas Market

Etsy Made Local Bristol 2018

Over two days, this is one market worth coming. For the sheer magnitude alone in an iconic venue, expect to find incredible local artists, crafters, makers and sellers, with a huge range of products including illustration, homeware, clothing, art, stationery, ceramics, knitwear, jewellery, cosmetics.

Pop Up Christmas Shop, The Bristol Makers Market

A pop up shop in Bristol curiously curated entirely with Bristol based artists, designers and makers, providing everything you need to dazzle the ones you love, whilst supporting the cities infamous creative community. From ceramics to artist prints, glittering jump suits to preserves, all made with passion; objects of beauty, quality and flavour!

Arnos Vale Christmas Market

Showcasing a host of local craft and produce suppliers from the region including Ginger Beards Preserves, Boulton Spirit, Little Paisley Designs, Do It Later Illustration, Wildgrove,  Fawn and Blue and Maggie Cousins. So for pet prints, handmade dog accessories, jewellery, spirits and preserves this is the market for you.

Bristol SU Makers Market

Despite hosting this Makers Market n the first Sunday of every month, this date involved a very special Christmas themed Makers Market where you can fill your stockings with bespoke gifts for all your friends and family.

Tobacco Factory Christmas Markets

Easily one of my favourite markets in Bristol, the  insatiable Tobacco Factory Sunday Markets run weekly but throughout December they’ll adopt a festive twist. Expect a selection of the best local food, makers, producers, craft around, plus Christmas trees, local choirs, and mulled drinks. P.S. Look out for Pips Real Hot Chocolate for some fabulous Ruby Hot Chocolate stocking fillers.

North Street Nights

Running Thursday 6th, 13th and 20th December the shops and venues that make North Street fantastic, will be keeping their doors open till 8pm. With a wide range of quality independent shopping on offer, from special gifts to Brussel Sprouts, customers will be spoiled for choice. Local bars and cafes will be adding a touch of magic with indulgent seasonal treats and special offerings. Look out for the snowflake logo in windows to know who’s proudly taking part this year and ask inside for details.

St Nicks Night Market: Festive Edition

St Nicholas Market is a treat at the best at times, but combined with the winters nights and a festive market and we’re on to a winner. Expected to be a wonderfully festive affair you can expect a festive projection installation from Limbic Cinema, live music, DJ’s, a silent disco, carols from the local church, exceptional street food vendors, incredible local producers, purveyors of locally brewed tipples and gorgeous seasonal gifts from local makers.

Bristol Viva! Vegan Festival

While this isn’t strictly Christmas-themed, it does provide a fantastic opportunity to pick up delicious vegan food and products for your Christmas dinner, or a Vegan hamper for a special friend.

In it’s 11th year, this annual event in the heart of Clifton Village is a delightful mix of over 40 festive stalls, carol singers, Father Christmas, BBQ (from 12 noon), mulled cider and children’s activities.

Ashton Court Christmas Market 2018

Ashton Court’s Christmas Market will be small but perfectly formed! Hosting a hand selected range of 10 indoor craft stalls, the market will take place in our quaint Courtyard Cafe Stables. You can pick up bespoke Christmas gifts from local stall holders who will be selling jewellery, lighting, skincare, stained glass, ceramics, art, wood Ppoducts, clothing and more! The Courtyard will also host Ali & Joe’s Christmas Tree Sale along with more stalls including firewood, wreaths, plant boxes, wooden snowmen & reindeer and locally made sausages.

St Nick’s Christmas Markets

St Nicholas Market will host its indoor and outdoor shopping areas open right up to Christmas, housing over 60 stalls selling a range of gifts, including fashion, accessories, books, records and food. You’ll find Christmas stalls on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Sundays. Mondays remain Vegan & Wellbeing markets, and Wednesdays Bristol Farmers’ and Producers’ Market.

When: Every day from Wednesday 12 December until Christmas.
